Why Women in Healthcare Need to Ditch Guilt and Build a Life They Love

Why Women in Healthcare Need to Ditch Guilt and Build a Life They Love

If you’re a nurse or healthcare worker feeling stuck in the cycle of burnout, guilt, and overworking, this one’s for you. Let me tell you a story about a former client who did the hard work of creating a life she actually loves—without apologizing for it.

BTW, if you're ready to stop living in survival mode and start building a life that actually feels good, grab my free Financial Health Self Audit Guide here.

The Story:
This client had been travel nursing for years, chasing the highest paying gigs to cover debt and keep up with lifestyle creep. It worked… until it didn’t. She was away from her family, her home, her core values—and it was draining the life out of her.

Through our coaching work, she realized: her financial mess didn’t mean she had to keep chasing. She could slow down and build something of her own. So, she created a business that combined her nursing and teaching skills. She got clients she loved. She worked remotely (in her cozy sanctuary of a home!) while being there for her grandkids and community.

But even with all that success, she hit a snag: guilt.

She could do her job remotely, but she kept thinking:

  • “Shouldn’t I be going in person?”

  • “It can’t really be this easy, can it?”

  • “Do I deserve this much peace and stability?”

Sound familiar?
This is what so many of us feel when we finally create something good. We’re so used to overworking and proving ourselves that when life feels calm, we almost don’t trust it.

In my course, Nurse Money Makeover, we go deeper into this exact process. You’ll learn how to shift from time scarcity to time sovereignty, even with a nurse schedule.

What We Did Together:
On our update coaching call, she realized she was holding onto that old nursing mindset: always go above and beyond. Even though her clients didn’t care if she was in-person or remote, she felt she should go the extra mile—even when it meant six unpaid hours of driving.

Together, we explored:
âś… Why she built her job to be remote in the first place.
âś… How her client’s needs were already met—no guilt necessary.
âś… That she didn’t have to prove her worth by over-extending herself.

She walked away deciding to only go in-person if it felt like a full-body YES—not because she felt obligated.

Here’s the powerful reminder:
Sometimes, you’ve already built the life you want.
You don’t have to keep grinding to prove you deserve it.
You don’t have to keep suffering to be “enough.”

Reading this is one thing, living it is another. If you're ready for that shift, apply for a coaching intensive and let’s get your life back.
